Relegation-threatened Leicester City needed a late goal from substitute Jordan Ayew to rescue a 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday, a result that leaves the Foxes still inside the Championship relegation zone with five games remaining for the 2015-16 Premier League champions to avoid dropping into the third tier.
The spirited Owls, already relegated and still on minus points, looked set for a first win in 35 games thanks to Jerry Yates' second-minute strike. But Ayew produced a moment of quality to beat goalkeeper Pierce Charles six minutes from time, denying the league's bottom side a famous victory after Charles had defied Leicester with save after save.
A Dream Start For The Owls
Wednesday could not have asked for a better opening. With just two minutes on the clock, Leicester failed to deal with a corner and Yates was on hand to poke the ball in from close range, sending the home crowd into raptures and handing the strugglers an early lead nobody expected against opponents fighting for their lives.
