Ossama Ashley's curling finish capped a 3-1 victory for Salford City against Tranmere Rovers in League Two, a result built on a dominant opening and clinical finishing after the break.
Salford laid siege to the Tranmere goal early on and were rewarded through Luke Garbutt's penalty, before late goals from Cole Stockton and Ashley settled the contest after Omari Patrick had briefly drawn the visitors level.
Hosts Lay Siege Early
The hosts began brightly and came close to opening the scoring after five minutes when Kallum Cesay's volley drew Joe Murphy into a diving save. Haji Mnoga then struck a fierce drive over the bar before Cole Stockton headed over from close range.
