Watford drew 1-1 with West Ham United at Vicarage Road on Saturday, Amin Nabizada's early goal cancelled out by a Mattie Pollock own goal, leaving Alessio Dionisi's side unbeaten in the Championship and Nuno Espirito Santo facing renewed pressure from a frustrated away following.
Nabizada put Watford ahead in the 18th minute, drifting to the left of the box before curling a delicate chip over West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and into the far corner. The 19-year-old Afghanistan international, an academy product handed a regular starting role this season, has now scored twice in three appearances under head coach Dionisi.
West Ham were level within eight minutes. Valentin Castellanos nicked the ball away from Kevin Keben as the Watford defender tried to shepherd it out of play near his own goalline, and his prodded effort deflected in off captain Mattie Pollock for an own goal.
West Ham grew into the game after the break, with Arne Engels firing narrowly wide and Manor Solomon denied by a last-ditch Pollock tackle, but managed only one shot on target all afternoon. Watford's best chance to win it came on the counterattack, when Iker Bravo's shot deflected over off Joel Veltman.
