Alli misses from close range as Charlton and Portsmouth share a goalless draw

· Match Report

Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth drew 0-0 at The Valley on 12 September, with Millenic Alli's close-range miss against his former club the chance Charlton will rue most.

Alli spent the second half of last season on loan at Portsmouth before joining Charlton in the summer, and the travelling supporters booed him whenever he touched the ball. Charlton manager Nathan Jones said afterwards: "We had the absolute clear-cut chance of the game. If we had scored the first goal, especially in the first half, then we are very difficult to beat here."

Opta credits Charlton with 10 shots to Portsmouth's nine, three on target apiece, with Portsmouth holding 52% of possession.
