In-form Tottenham loanee Yusuf Akhamrich set lowly Bristol Rovers on course for a comfortable 2-0 victory over promotion-chasing Walsall at the Memorial Stadium.
The attacking midfielder broke the deadlock in the 61st minute with his third goal in two games, applying the coolest of left-footed finishes after being played in by Shaq Forde. Three minutes later, defender Kofi Balmer doubled the advantage with his first Gas goal.
Akhamrich's Cool Finish Sets the Tone
Before the breakthrough, Walsall goalkeeper Myles Roberts had been called into action three times, denying Forde twice and Jack Sparke as the hosts pushed forward.
