Derby County eased back to winning ways with a commanding 3-0 victory at rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday, as Patrick Agyemang struck twice and Liam Thompson scored his first Championship goal at Hillsborough.
USA striker Agyemang scored in each half, either side of Thompson's composed finish early in the second period, to halt Derby's three-game winless run and lift the Rams to 12th in the table, four points adrift of the play-offs, while extending Wednesday's miserable run without a win to 14 matches.
Derby Punish Risky Play from the Back
The opening half-hour was largely devoid of quality, with both sides repeatedly surrendering possession and frustrating their own supporters, but Derby gradually found their rhythm and began to target Wednesday's attempts to play out from the back.
