AFC Wimbledon and Reading shared a goalless draw at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on the second matchday of the League One season, with the visitors dominant for long spells but unable to find a breakthrough.
Reading had 63% of possession and led 13 shots to four, with three on target to Wimbledon's two and a further effort that came back off the woodwork; the corner count finished level at 7-7.
Wimbledon's Myles Hippolyte was booked in the 18th minute, and Ryan Johnson (28') and Reading's Paudie O'Connor (28') were both cautioned for arguing moments apart. Andy Rinomhota was also booked for Reading in the 37th minute, and substitute Charlie Savage picked up a yellow card in the 67th minute.
Reading made five changes: Savage and George Earthy replaced Rinomhota and Josh Stokes on 64 minutes, Randell Williams and Paddy Lane came on for Daniel Kyerewaa and Haydon Roberts on 86, and Jacob Brown replaced Kyreece Lisbie in the 94th minute. Wimbledon made three substitutions, sending on Callum Maycock, Aron Sasu and Steven Sessegnon for Zack Nelson, Jayden Stockley and Myles Hippolyte.
